the Chicago premiere of a new work by Kira Obolensky
directed by: David Amaral
original music by: Joshua Dumas
Raskol is a terse and turbulent retelling of Crime and Punishment in which scenes of dream and reality, past and present tumble upon each other and burst into song. This dynamic and irreverently musical re-imagining of Dostoyevsky’s classic is written by Minneapolis playwright Kira Obolensky. Brought to Chicago for the first time by the dynamic creative team of David Amaral and Joshua Dumas. Performed with a live band, this imaginative staging of a classic story will not be soon forgotten.
